Vermont DJ:  Spencer Wilkins

I’m a happy transplant to Vermont!  My first artistic experience was in music, where I focused on sound engineering and songwriting. I had the privilege of working with jazz legend Brandford Marsellis and writing with Kool AD from the renowned underground rap trio Das Racist. I also organized various music festivals and pop-up shows to support local musicians, from New Jersey to Iowa. After my time in the professional music scene, I transitioned into the world of literature. My first long-form piece of prose was published in the nationally circulated magazine “Southeast Review,” and since then, I’ve continued to publish poetry and creative nonfiction.

Outside of my creative pursuits, I’ve built a career in education. My first taste of teaching came at a traveling robotics camp, and I’ve never looked back. I’ve taught at the Vermont Institute of Natural Sciences and the University of Iowa. In every job, I draw from the same well of inspiration: community. Whether I’m teaching a group of kindergarteners about owl behavior or a class of college students about rhythmic dexterity, I strive to create a welcoming, open environment for everyone. As a DJ, I bring that same sense of fun and cohesion to every gig and look forward to rising to whatever occasion you may have.
